About TentBox
TentBox is a British rooftop tent brand, founded in 2015 by brothers Ollie and Neill near Southampton. The inspiration came during a road trip in France, where they dreamed of bringing high-quality rooftop tents to the mass market. TentBox is now the best-selling rooftop tent brand in Britain with over 25,000 units on the road, recently relocating to a larger headquarters in North Baddesley, near Southampton.
At launch, rooftop tents were virtually unknown outside the 4x4 overlanding niche. TentBox's vision was to create roof tents that fit on any car — not just 4x4s. The TentBox Lite 2.0 weighs just 49 kg and sets up in 2–5 minutes, providing an elevated sleeping platform with a built-in dual-layer foam mattress, two skylights for stargazing, and 360-degree views through large all-around windows.
When mounted on a Tickners GP74 box trailer (as sold at BCC), the TentBox Lite 2.0 becomes a standalone towable camping unit with enclosed gear storage below and sleeping above. The TentBox can be removed from the trailer and roof-mounted on a vehicle when preferred — maximum versatility.

How TentBox trailer tents are built
The TentBox Lite 2.0 uses 280gsm rip-stop polyester canvas with a 3,000mm hydrostatic head rating, C6 DWR water-repellency, 2,400mm/24hr breathability, and UV50+ protection. The rainfly is 210D polyester with a 5,000mm hydrostatic head rating. The travel cover is 600D PVC-backed cordura with a 6,000mm hydrostatic head rating. All seams are silicone-taped and all zips are YKK throughout. The mattress is dual-layer 5cm foam (firmer base, softer top) with a removable waterproof, machine-washable cover.
