About Auto-Trail
Auto-Trail is one of the UK's leading motorhome manufacturers, building every vehicle at its factory in Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire. Founded in 1982 by Bill Boasman and Barry Holmes — who were inspired by American RVs to create the first coach-built Auto-Trail motorhome, the Cheyenne, on a Peugeot 504 base — the company has grown into one of Britain's most respected names in leisure vehicles.
Key milestones include the launch of the Frontier and Grande Frontier ranges in the 2000s, the first A-Class motorhome in 2006, a multi-million pound factory expansion in 2016 that doubled production capacity, and the introduction of the Expedition and Adventure campervan ranges in the 2020s. Auto-Trail is part of the Trigano Group, one of Europe's largest leisure vehicle manufacturers.
With nearly 40 models across campervans, low-profiles, coachbuilts, and A-class motorhomes, Auto-Trail offers one of the broadest ranges of any UK motorhome manufacturer. Every model features the company's proprietary Cube Construction body-building technique and is backed by industry-leading warranty coverage.

Cube Construction
The technology behind every Auto-Trail motorhome
Auto-Trail's proprietary Cube Construction is a robust bonding technique used across every model. The process begins with the chassis cab (with the rear already cut out by the base vehicle manufacturer), onto which the floor section, water containers, wiring loom, and lower plumbing are fitted. Bodies are assembled on moveable jigs with the interior fitted before the body is lifted onto the chassis. The outer body covering is then bonded into place using Cube Construction — a method that enhances structural integrity, improves sound insulation, and delivers clean, sleek aesthetics.
This construction approach means every Auto-Trail has exceptional rigidity and weather resistance. Combined with Grade 3 thermal insulation across all models and double-glazed windows, Auto-Trail motorhomes are built for year-round touring in all conditions.
