The 2026 Swift Challenger Grande 650 is a twin-axle, six-berth touring caravan measuring 26'2" long and 8'1" wide, built for families and experienced caravanners alike. The layout makes good use of the space with parallel bench seats at the front, a central kitchen, a mid-ship washroom and a rear island bed. The Challenger range has been refreshed for 2026 with updated exterior styling, improved interior comfort features and the new Truma CombiNeo heating system.

The Grande 650 uses Swift's SMART construction with a timber-less PURe polyurethane bodyshell frame, polystyrene insulation and GRP outer panels throughout. Sidewalls are 25mm thick with balanced GRP inner and outer skins, while the roof panel is 32mm with a hail-resistant, fully bonded GRP finish. The 44mm sandwich floor combines a GRP outer skin, plywood upper layer and a Ravatherm rigid insulation core.

The caravan sits on an AL-KO galvanised steel chassis with Euro-axle and rides on new 15-inch half diamond-cut alloy wheels with a steel spare. A 120W roof-mounted solar panel comes as standard. Other external details include LED marker lights, an LED awning light, fully double-glazed tinted windows and a one-piece entrance door with concealed hinges. The bodyshell carries EN1645 Grade 3 thermal insulation classification, verified by cold chamber testing.

Inside, there is a generous 1.95m (6'5") of headroom. The 2026 model introduces the Aquaclean 'Elephant' soft furnishing scheme paired with Sangallo Elm and Toro/Grau woodgrain accents, along with a Grey French Oak scratch-resistant vinyl floor. New for this year are sprung seat bases with tri-foam backrests, designed to improve both daytime seating and nighttime sleeping comfort.

The front lounge features a new Dometic panoramic sunroof with an integrated curved blind system, recessed lighting and built-in speakers. Fixed beds benefit from an exclusive Duvalay Duvalite Strato mattress with a platinum support layer, reflex foam and memory fibre for improved airflow. Removable, bleachable carpet sections are provided throughout (except the washroom), and all windows have fitted blinds and flyscreens.

The kitchen is well equipped with a Thetford thermostatic oven and grill, a three-burner gas hob with electric hotplate, and electronic ignition across all burners. The hob has a glass lid with automatic gas shut-off. A flatbed microwave and a Thetford 142-litre tall fridge with a 15-litre freezer compartment complete the cooking appliances. Work surface is extended by a foldaway worktop section, and the stainless steel sink comes with a washing-up bowl and removable extension drainer. A new pull-out wire basket in the kitchen cupboard adds extra organisation, and an external BBQ point is fitted as standard.

The mid-ship washroom includes a boutique-style wash basin unit with cupboard and mirror, an Ecocamel Jetstorm showerhead (with push-button on/off for water saving), and new 'White Stipple' marble-effect shower wallboard. The Thetford electric-flush toilet has an 18-litre wheeled waste tank for easy emptying. Ventilation comes via a Mini or Midi-Heki rooflight with flyscreen and concertina blind.

Overhead lockers have positive catches with chrome handles for secure travel. Upper front corner lockers and shelved overhead lockers provide additional space, and the spaceframe-construction seat bases open from the front to accommodate larger items. New phone storage pockets have been added for 2026.

The new Truma CombiNeo is a combined heater and continuous hot water system, controlled via a digital programmable panel. Blown-air heating reaches under-bed, under-seat and washroom areas. A user-friendly 4-inch LCD colour touchscreen manages onboard systems.

The electrical setup includes a 25-amp switchmode charger/transformer, at least four 230V sockets, twin USB charging points throughout (with an additional pair under the front locker), and a 25-metre mains hook-up cable. LED lighting is fitted throughout, including downlights in the lounge and over-locker lighting. Entertainment is covered by an FM/DAB radio with USB and Bluetooth connectivity, a Status 570 directional TV/FM aerial with booster, and dedicated TV points with 230V, 12V and aerial connections.

Towing stability is managed by the AL-KO ATC electronic stability system and AL-KO AKS 3004 stabiliser. Security features include a one-key locking system, a deadlock on the entrance door, VIN CHIP identification concealed within the bodyshell, and CRiS identity labels on windows and chassis. Receivers for optional AL-KO Secure wheel locks are fitted to both axles. Smoke and carbon monoxide alarms are included as standard.
