The 2026 Swift Challenger Grande 640 is the flagship of the Challenger range — a twin-axle 6 berth tourer measuring 26'2" long with an MTPLM of 1,797 kg in the wide 8'1" Grande body. The layout provides a front lounge with parallel bench seats, a central kitchen, a large dinette that doubles as sleeping for two, a French-style fixed bed and a corner washroom. On a twin-axle AL-KO chassis, it tows with the stability you would expect from a well-planted twin, and the 8'1" body width gives every area of the caravan noticeably more room than the standard-width models.

Swift's SMART construction provides a timber-less, moisture-proof bodyshell using 'PURe' polyurethane framing with polystyrene insulation and GRP panels — 25mm sidewalls, 32mm roof and a 44mm sandwich floor of GRP, plywood and Ravatherm core. The build meets EN1645 Grade 3 thermal insulation standards and carries European Whole Vehicle Type Approval.

As a twin-axle model, the 640 sits on an AL-KO galvanised steel chassis with Euro-axle, paired with an AKS 3004 stabiliser and ATC electronic stability control. Receivers for optional AL-KO Secure wheel locks are fitted to both axles.

For 2026, the exterior gets refreshed graphics, new front panel detailing and 15" half diamond cut alloy wheels. A 120W roof-mounted solar panel is standard. Other practical touches include fully double-glazed tinted windows, a step-on hitch cover, Thule cycle rack fixing bars and an exterior access battery box with mains inlet.

With 1.95m (6'5") headroom and the wide 8'1" body, the interior is spacious throughout. The 2026 scheme features Aquaclean 'Elephant' upholstery with Sangallo Elm and Toro/Grau woodgrain accents, over Grey French Oak scratch-resistant floor vinyl.

The 640 provides three distinct sleeping areas. The French-style fixed bed comes with a Duvalay Duvalite Strato mattress for year-round comfort. The large rear dinette converts to a double — useful for children or visiting guests — and the front lounge seats make up a third double using a slat-on-track system. New sprung seat bases and Tri-foam backrests improve both seating and sleeping comfort for 2026.

The lounge features a new Dometic panoramic front sunroof with integrated curved blind system, recessed lighting and speakers. Rooflights with flyscreens and concertina blinds are fitted throughout.

The central kitchen includes a Thetford thermostatic oven and grill, a three-burner gas hob with electric hotplate (electronic ignition throughout) and a glass lid with auto gas shut-off. A flatbed microwave and Thetford 142-litre tall fridge with 15-litre freezer compartment handle food storage for the larger group.

The stainless steel sink comes with a washing-up bowl and removable extension drainer. A new pull-out wire basket in the kitchen cupboard is added for 2026. An external BBQ point and mains outlet are included.

The corner washroom includes a boutique-style wash basin unit with cupboard and mirror, a chrome swivel-spout tap and a Thetford electric-flush toilet with 18-litre wheeled waste tank. The Ecocamel Jetstorm showerhead delivers strong pressure while using less water, set against new 'White Stipple' marble-effect wallboard.

Overhead lockers with positive catches and chrome handles run throughout, with upper front corner lockers and shelved lockers adding capacity. Seat bases use spaceframe construction with full front access for larger items. New phone storage pockets are included for 2026.

The new Truma CombiNeo provides combined heating and continuous hot water, controlled via a digital programmer and 4" LCD touchscreen. Blown air ducting distributes warmth to under-bed, under-seat and washroom areas — important in a caravan of this size.

Electrics run through a 25 amp switchmode charger/transformer with a 25-metre hook-up cable. LED lighting is fitted throughout, with at least four 230V sockets and twin USB points around the caravan. An FM/DAB radio with USB and Bluetooth is included, along with a Status 570 directional TV/FM aerial and booster. TV points with 230V, 12V and aerial sockets are provided in two locations.
